HIGHMARK HAS RECOGNIZED the issue of domestic violence as a health and wellness
issue for many years, bringing it from the shadows into the forefront of the conversation. Its
support is evident in its funding of the awareness campaign around Women’s Center & Shelter’s
new lifesaving app, RUSafe?. Highmark has also created awareness through social media, and
Highmark employees even produced a dance flash mob during domestic violence awareness month
to show their support.
Highmark is an unwavering partner, steadfast in its commitment to spreading awareness and
contributing financially to support these efforts.
“Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield has a long history of giving back to the communities we serve.
We are a long-time supporter of the Women’s Center & Shelter and know that the $30,000 grant
we awarded will allow them to continue to help women in our community receive the care and
support they need. The RUSafe? Danger Assessment App that our grant funded will help victims
of abuse find the help they need, while helping to prevent domestic violence homicides, serious
injuries and re-assaults.”
